October concludes today

Our last day in class working on the candy bar wrapper project was yesterday. ALL Projects MUST be finished before school or at lunch and given to me NO LATER than Tuesday 11-3-09 at 2 pm.

Monday - have in class images ti draw that inspire you - images you will draw when you are done with a project and waiting for others. Not having the images will cause you to lose points on current projects as you are unprepared for class.

Also have in the 10 images for the project with Mrs. Carson...bring in the images Monday.

I will be at the 10th retreat on Wed and Thurs next week.

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

Last week of October and first week of November

Ms. Carson will be working with the class for the days that I am with the 10th grade Retreat.

ALL STUDENTS must have 10 images from a magazine...full page...or high resolution computer images. These images MUST be in class by Monday 11-2-09. These images go ABOVE and BEYOND the 5-10 images you need to have on hand for drawing after an assignment in class is completed (as you wait for peers to finish).

The images must be of food, animals, landscapes, people, sports, etc. The can not include images inappropriate for school...images that include violence, sex, alcohol, drugs, guns, etc. are not allowed and if brought to school will result in a referral and a zero for teh project.

This week we are working on the color project with consumer products (candy wrappers). After completion of the candy wrapper drawings we'll spend Friday watching a video about an artist - Keith Haring. If time, we'll do a quick sketch in class.

Friday, October 23, 2009

Current Projects

The class finally finished watching the color video today. The video worksheet was turned in at the end of class.

Paper that have been passed back were glued into the sketchbook. Those that forgot everything at home today need to take care of that on their own time.

Scientific illustrations and scratch art were finished this week. Illustration reflections were due in class today.

Thursday we started drawing our candy wrappers...that will take three to four days next week.

Make sure to find images from magazines or high resolution printed images (3-10 of food, animals, nature, people, architecture...appropriate for school) to practice sketching if you finish a project before the rest of the class moves on to another project. Finishing early DOES NOT equal a study for another class/ do homework opportunity.

We'll start a colored pencil project with consumer products NLT 10-26-09.

Wednesday we'll start our color project based on consumer products (candy bar wrappers). This should take us the rest of the week.

BY Thursday have completed all of the outstanding assignments from the quarter (what is not done must be turned in unfinished and graded as is):
